The book is a collection of recipes used by Marjorie Standish in her cooking column in the Portland Press Herald. Some are ones she used when working for Central Maine Power Company, some were handed down from generation to generation in her family or submitted by her readers. All are tried and true. The good plain food your mother used to make. The book includes recipies for clam chowder, lobster stew, how to boil a lobster and make the best blueberry muffins ever. It also has a recipe for Exquisite Chocolate Mint Sticks which my family LOVES.
